Just Take the First Step

Yay!  I made it through the first day of my 60 day juice feast!

Today is day 2 and I woke up feeling good.  I've had my hot lemon and a really awesome green juice.  Eventually I'll make my way upstairs, take a shower and shoot the video of the day.  It'll be fun!

For now I gotta work at least for a little bit.  Work on what?  Well the other blog, the social media stuff and the book of course.  The book is nearly done for content but I need to figure out formatting and what or where am I going to put it out there.

See, I've been doing a lot of research about selling books as a self publisher.  Man, I gotta tell you that there are so many places to do that it's almost crazy!

I was originally going to just put up a webpage for it and go that route, but the more I am learning about epublishing and the market that maybe that's not the best way for me to market it given that I don't really have a following just yet and because of my disdain for making websites.

G and I talked at length about these issues earlier this week and we agreed to put off doing the website until later.  Boy did I ever breath a sigh of relief cause having and making a website was really stressing me out.

I'd also like to figure out a better format for it to make it even snazzier than it already is.  I am so proud of this book that I just want to make it the best I can before I put it out there for people to read it.

So that's where I'm at today. Living, working, juicing and loving life.

The First Day of the Rest of My Life

Happy New Year!

Well I woke up feeling kinda blah, but that probably had something to do with the fact that I decided to imbibe in adult beverages last night to celebrate the New Year.  I woke up reminded why I don't drink but on limited occasions and after today, I am giving up that crap for good (and a few other things too).

Anyway...so today I start my 60 Day Juice Cleanse.  I got up and made over 80 ounces of juice first thing and drank about 16 ounces.

Because today is such a momentous occassion, I went upstairs, dusted off my scale and did my big weigh in and measuring of my body.  OYE...what a shock!  OK, it wasn't really a shock, but yet it was.  I don't weigh  myself for a reason and this morning when I was standing on that scale I was surprised that the damn thing didn't yell "Get off!  You are crushing me!" or something to that effect.

Really?  Like for reals, REALLY?

Yep, I am weighing in right now at 260 lbs.  That is TWO HUNDRED and SIXTY, yes, SIXTY pounds.   Yikes!  I'm really surprised I am not in more pain or have other issues.  Seriously.  That weight while being quite a lot and something I am not proud of, is really scary.  I am actually scared for my health.  I don't want to have a heart attack or some other weight related disease like diabetes or blood clots or who knows what else!

SO instead of whining and crying about it or feeling sorry for myself and eating a bag of potato chips or a candy bar or binging on some other unhealthy crap, I am going to do something about it.

Today I am taking charge of my life and my health and I am not going to quit this time.  This time is different.  Juicing and completing this juice cleanse is just the beginning too.  :)

Happy New Year's Eve

Happy New Year's Eve!

So I'm sitting here reflecting on the past year and how I came to be where I am now.

Last year on New Year's Eve, I felt that I had no focus and no real goals. I was alone and was feeling pretty lost in my life given that I had just lost my job and had no idea how I was going to pay the bills.

I was involved in network marketing, but after I left one network marketing company and joined two more, I realized that network marketing just isn't for me.  Networking is and marketing is, but being with a network marketing company just really does not suit me. I worked as a contractor and a part time retail employee for a little while and figured out that I really do not like working for other people. I learned about affiliate marketing which opened my eyes to all the possibilities it has to offer. I read book after book and got inspired to write my own book. Towards the end of 2014, I decided that I really should work for myself and so I started my own company.

I also discovered vegetarianism and I learned how to eat healthier and cleaner.  I lost a little bit of weight and because of that, I have made friends and set a goal to do a 60 day juice cleanse in 2015.  I'm starting that tomorrow and I'm super excited. I wrote a book about juicing and I'm already writing a follow up complete with recipes and advice on how to live and eat clean in the real world.

My fiance came to visit me and I am so blessed to have someone so amazing who loves me no matter what I look like or what I am doing. I love him so much and I am blessed to know him and have him in my life.

So that's where I am today.  Life is good.

I have so many goals and plans for 2015 that even I am in awe of some of them.  I want to write more books and help as many people as I can lead healthy happy lives.  I also want to help as many people as I can escape the 9 to 5 and make money using the internet.  I want my friends and family to be happy and healthy and have lives they are proud of.  And I'm going to do all of those things.....All of them.

So that is what I am thinking about today.  My wonderful, blessed happy little crazy life and how it's amazing today and will be even more amazing in the new year.

Happy New Year!

...and we are LIVE!

Today was a big day over here in the curly girl universe.  We bought some real estate....web real estate that is.

There is is below!  My new fancy smansy shiny website for my book! WOO WOO!  Go ahead and click it!

I set up a website and a squeeze page for my book that I'm launching in January.  Took me nearly half of the day too and I'm still not sure that I like it.

First I was going to use WordPress, but I really do not like WordPress and I really wanted to have a dedicated site for the book.  I bought the url and away I went into Happy HTML programming..  (not!)  I don't know what it is about these web builder programs but they are not friendly, at least not me anyway.  I think it's because they expect us to get frustrated so we will go out and hire someone to do it for us.  *sighs*

Anyway...I guess I'm learning as I go.  The site is live and over the next few weeks I will be fighting, um, tweaking it as I go along.

I'm going to go rest my brain now.

'tis the mantra of the day!

I'm So Excited!

Oh it's a good day for sure today.   My juicer is coming today!!  Woo hoo hoo!

Why a juicer?  Well because I wanted one so I can start juicing (that's the most obvious answer).  SO why would I want to start juicing?

Well...I'm tired of being tired and fat.

See a few months ago I watched "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" with Joe Cross.  If you have not seen this movie, I suggest you do because it's really good.

I know when I first watched it, I was in shock at the transformation that both Joe and Phil went through just from juicing!  Neither one of them was on any special diet like protein shakes and they were not starving. I loved that!  It really touched my heart because for the past few years, I have been on so many diets with processed powders and shakes and pills and scooby snacks (man, I hated those!) myself, and all I have really wanted is to be healthy and slimmer.

I got off all the diets and shakes in 2013 and over the summer I started transitioning to eating less meat and more fruits and vegetables. I was having some success with it though I never got the idea of juicing out of my mind.  I just knew that I had to try juicing!

But when?  Hmm....Well the first of the year after the holidays sounded like a good plan which is why I ordered my juicer this week.  For the next few weeks, I am going to be juicing a little bit leading up to a New Year's 60 Day Juice Feast!

My goal for the Juice Feast is to lose 50 lbs and get below 200 lbs because I haven't been in One-derland for years!

I'm so excited!

So for my readers, if any of you would like to join me on my Juice Feast, send me an email or comment and we can do this together
