No More Sh**heads

Ahh...it's on days like this that I am happy I work for myself in the comfort of my own home.  I woke up today not feeling very good.  I'm not sick or anything.  I just don't feel good.  I am tired, crabby and just want to curl up on my couch under a blanket and watch movies.

Of course, I haven't done that YET, but I will migrate to the couch soon and maybe even take a nap once I get a few of my daily work tasks out of the way.

So why do I love working from home so much and even more so on days like today?  Well, I don't have to call in to a shitty boss.  I don't have to 'be excused' and then deal with the consequences of that.  I used to have this one boss who used to punish me if I ever called out sick.  I'm not kidding! She used to assign me all sorts of crappy tasks, piling it on higher and higher, on the day I returned to work after calling out.  I hated that so much.  No one should be punished for calling out sick.

Also, I can work when I want.  I don't have to spend 8 hours sitting at my desk or bench, doing menial tasks and/or trying to look busy when I was finished with such tasks. It's lovely.  Now when finish something, I move on or take a break or eat something or take a shower.  I get to choose. If I am not feeling well, I can take time off to rest.

I get to be creative.  This has got to be my favorite about working from home.  I can choose what to promote and how to promote it.  I love making images to use for my campaigns. I love making videos.  I love being creative.

I also get to choose who I deal with on a daily basis.  Remember that shitty boss I mentioned before?  Well, I didn't really like her or my co-workers for that matter.  They were all shitty people with even shittier attitudes and work ethics. I used to have to spend 8 hours a day with those shitheads, pretending that I cared and actually liked them.  Little did they know, I hated them and I was happy when they fired me. Now, I get to work with people that I like and admire.  People who have good hearts and are always trying to help each other out.  It's awesome!  I am no longer surrounded by shitheads.

Working from home for yourself rocks...especially on days when you just aren't feeling that great.

If you are interested in working from home or would like to make extra money every month, click here.

Or message me. I love helping people escape the shitheads that seem to be everywhere in traditional jobs.

Freedom, Happiness, Joy and Money

It's Tuesday and just another day here at the home office.  The cats are all napping and it's snowing out.  I had my lemon and juice this morning and when I went to take a shower earlier, I found that the water for the complex was turned off.  I had no idea that they were going to turn it off so I was a bit surprised, but it's ok.  I work from home so it doesn't matter whether I take a shower at 7 am or 7 pm.

So why work from home?  Other than having the flexibility to take a shower when you want, what makes working from home so awesome?

For me it's all about freedom, happiness, fun and money.

Freedom to do what I want when I want. I am not bound to a clock. Like the shower thing, I choose what I do everyday and when to do it.

Happiness come from this freedom. No longer do I have a boss breathing down my neck to do one thing or another.  I also don't have to deal with co-workers that I don't like.  It's also very quiet which the introverted side of my personality needs.

What I do is also a lot of fun.  I have always loved being online and making friends. From the time I was in college back in 1991 and I first got online at my school, networking with other college students became a huge part of my life because it was fun.  24 years later and I am still networking and enjoying every minute of it. It's even more fun now because of the technology.  I just love it!

As for money, it kind of goes like this: when I am doing a good job, I make money. The better effort I put in, makes me more money. It's that simple.  Unlike a job where you are paid a flat rate for your work, I can make an unlimited amount of money if I choose to.

So what do I do everyday?  Most of my friends think I just spend my day doing nothing which is very far from the truth.  In fact, I used to have a friend who would just stop by at random during the day because she knew I was home and figured that I could just stop working to hang out with her.  (I was never fond of that)

Anyway, I spend my days on the internet because I am an internet marketer. I promote other people's products like books and various other things.  I've written my own book and I spend some time editing that. Eventually I will be turning my efforts to promoting my own book.  I create videos and graphics to help promote my pages, twitter and various other social media outlets.

My hope is that more people take the chance and try internet marketing because no one deserves to work for someone that they they don't like, doing things on their time schedule with people they don't like for a salary that barely pays the bills. I used to be one of those people and it was miserable.

Now I have freedom, happiness, fun, and money

Happy New Year's Eve

Happy New Year's Eve!

So I'm sitting here reflecting on the past year and how I came to be where I am now.

Last year on New Year's Eve, I felt that I had no focus and no real goals. I was alone and was feeling pretty lost in my life given that I had just lost my job and had no idea how I was going to pay the bills.

I was involved in network marketing, but after I left one network marketing company and joined two more, I realized that network marketing just isn't for me.  Networking is and marketing is, but being with a network marketing company just really does not suit me. I worked as a contractor and a part time retail employee for a little while and figured out that I really do not like working for other people. I learned about affiliate marketing which opened my eyes to all the possibilities it has to offer. I read book after book and got inspired to write my own book. Towards the end of 2014, I decided that I really should work for myself and so I started my own company.

I also discovered vegetarianism and I learned how to eat healthier and cleaner.  I lost a little bit of weight and because of that, I have made friends and set a goal to do a 60 day juice cleanse in 2015.  I'm starting that tomorrow and I'm super excited. I wrote a book about juicing and I'm already writing a follow up complete with recipes and advice on how to live and eat clean in the real world.

My fiance came to visit me and I am so blessed to have someone so amazing who loves me no matter what I look like or what I am doing. I love him so much and I am blessed to know him and have him in my life.

So that's where I am today.  Life is good.

I have so many goals and plans for 2015 that even I am in awe of some of them.  I want to write more books and help as many people as I can lead healthy happy lives.  I also want to help as many people as I can escape the 9 to 5 and make money using the internet.  I want my friends and family to be happy and healthy and have lives they are proud of.  And I'm going to do all of those things.....All of them.

So that is what I am thinking about today.  My wonderful, blessed happy little crazy life and how it's amazing today and will be even more amazing in the new year.

Happy New Year!

I'm Well on My Way...

Woo hoo hoo!  I'm well on my way!

To where, you ask?  To financial freedom!!!  Woo hoo!!

See, today I got my FIRST paycheck from Clickbank.  I know, you're probably asking yourself "What is Clickbank and why does it matter?".

Well it matters because just about a month ago I discovered Affiliate Marketing because I was working on a contract that I was not happy with.  When I'm not happy with situations or jobs or most anything, I tend to start seeking my escape.

So back to the story.  During my little crisis, I stumbled on the concept of promoting other people's products for commission and I got so turned on by it that I literally did just that. I signed up for Clickbank and a few other affiliate marketing sites (these are ALL free to join, mind you!  If they want you to pay to join, it's probably a network marketing company trying to disguise itself as an affiliate marketing program) and I started promoting other people's products.  In fact, I actually sold some products through my efforts which I thought was (and still is) very cool!  Oh and did I mention that I got PAID?  Yes, I got paid and I am super happy! It's such a wonderful thing.

See, I wasn't happy with my network marketing business.  I had not really been happy or excited about network marketing in a long time (yes, I was in denial) and I was looking for a way to make money from home that didn't involve having to talk to a lot of people everyday, make friends with them and then hope and pray that they would join my 'opportunity', stay active, and build their own business.

For those of you that don't know this about network marketing, the truth is that bringing people onto your team is the main way to make money. It doesn't matter what the compensation plan is or the buy in. It doesn't matter what product you are selling. If you cannot recruit heaps and heaps of people successfully and consistently and keep them in your organization, you are sunk. It's that plain and simple.

Another hard truth (one of the ones that no network marketer likes to admit) and the main reason why most network marketers are always begging and pleading with everyone to check out their opportunity and join because they aren't making any money. 99% of the network marketers you meet are not making money. Most of them will tell you stories about this so-and-so guru mastermind in their upline that is making 20k a month, but if you ask them about their income, they go dead quiet. Truth is they are not making money.

Now most of them are really awesome people and I can't fault them for being this way because they really are trying their best and just want to make some money because they've probably spent (and still spend) so much money per month to stay active and commission qualified.  Don't believe me, ask one. For now, I'll just leave it at that. One day I'll tell you my network marketing story.  (It's a really long one!)

Anyway...I stumbled on Affiliate Marketing and I was sold!  No more autoship.  No more monthly minimums.  No fees. No more terms and conditions.  No more commission schedule. No more upline or downline!  No more recruiting! Yay!!! It's like I've died and gone to heaven!

And the best part is I get to represent and promote products that I like, use and want to buy!  Oh, and I've made money. Yes. I've made money and I will make heaps more! That's the beauty of affiliate marketing.  The sky is the limit and I am no longer bound by one company or product!

I am well on my way!

Yessss.....It's Friday!!!

So it's Friday.....Friday, Friday, Friday!   Woo hoo, right?  Do you feel like this today?

I do too!  Well, sort of.  I really want to blow off doing any sort of real work and do nothing, but knit and watch movies.  I can't do that though cause I have work to do.  I just launched a new ad campaign with a new agency and I need to keep an eye on it to see how it performs.

I also need to find some information on editing HTML (yes, I am still shaking my fist about HTML).  My fiance says it's not that difficult, but then again, he is the computer whisperer and went to school for that sort of thing.  Me, not so much. I'm a retired microbiologist, remember? One day I will have to tell you the story of how I retired from the lab at 40!

My fiance, the Computer Whisperer
Anyway...so I'm here at my computer writing a blog instead because I really don't want to look up HTML stuff cause it confuses me, and checking my metrics for the day.   I know it sounds crazy, but since I started this adventure in affiliate marketing, I'm really enjoying myself.

Unlike Network Marketing, Affiliate Marketing is such a breeze!  I don't have to talk to a million people and try to convince them to purchase from me or join my opportunity.  I don't have to spend a minimum per month to stay commission eligible.  It's great!  OH and I've made money!!!  Yep, in just a few weeks, I have made money by promoting other people's products.  Not heaps of money yet, but I have made money.  It is awesome!

Now I still believe in Network Marketing, but to do Network Marketing right without burning a lot of people by making huge income promises and having to chase your friends and family, you have to talk to a lot of people, make friends with them and then maybe they will join you and your opportunity. I stress the 'maybe' part, because most of the people I made friends with were already in another company and were happy.  To be honest, I never had much success with it even when I was working it full time.  My business never even paid for my products per month which was a bit disappointing.

That's how I ended up doing affiliate marketing. I was tired of spending all of my time looking for people and promoting a free product to find said people. Now I market and represent real products and companies such as BestBuy and PetSmart to name a few and I'm having fun!  Oh and I'm making money too....

If you're interested in learning more about Affiliate Marketing, check out ClickBank! It's free to join and there are heaps of products you can represent.  That's where I got started and where I made my first money online.

So Happy Friday everyone!

Baby, it's cold outside!

Baby, it's COOOOLDD outside!!

No really, it's really cold out there. I don't know what's up with our weather, but it's only November and it's so cold that I don't want to leave the house.  I wanna stay inside where it's nice and warm.

Best part is I don't have to go out today because I work from home.  Bwhahaha.....I love that.

Today I've been spending some time figuring out a few things about the language of HTML.   What I've learned so far is I know jack about HTML except for how to identify it and how to shake my fist at it. I'm very good at shaking my fist at it.  (the cats stare and think I've lost my mind when I do this!)

The famous Odin stare (he does this daily)

See, I want to update and reformat my blog and website and make them really snazzy, but I need to learn a little more about HTML so they'll look good and not shi**y.  I should probably sign up for a class or something.  Maybe I'll go look into that later.  It's not like I don't have a million other things to do already like pet the cats, finish this blog, eat something, continue knitting G.'s Christmas present and what not..

I am totally having an ADD day, but I'm home, I'm warm, I'm working and I'm happy.

Oh look...one of the cats just walked by!

What Day is It Again?

Does anybody know what day it is?

Ha ha ...I couldn't resist!

SO it's Wednesday.  I used to love Wednesdays because it meant that my work week was half over and I could look forward to the two best days of the week: The Weekend.

Now that I work from home, the weekends are just another part of the week. In fact, I don't really like to go out on weekends because that's when traffic is the worst and all the shops are crowded. Usually I spend my weekends cleaning and hanging around my house.  Sometimes I do research for my work.  Other times I spend the day cooking and watching movies.  I swear, they are the best weekends!

Many of my friends find that strange, but I don't. I work from home. For me, it's normal.

Granted, working from home has its' own challenges like staying motivated and focused, but I used to struggle with that in my normal job too.  The difference now is that I don't have a boss breathing down my neck and reminding me everyday that I am doing something wrong.

Today I am thankful that I am able to make enough money from the comfort of my home.  I am thankful for the internet and for all the people I have met along the way who have helped and supported my dream of working from home.  I'm thankful that I am my own boss.  Gosh darn it, I'm thankful for it all!

And for Wednesday too as a reminder of what my life used to be like: Working for the weekend.

What Makes Em Tick

The cats are at it again.  I don't know what makes em tick, but whatever it is, it sure keeps me entertained.

Yesterday Odin was in a mood and spent the day camped out on the bed in a bad mood.  Zoe was wandering about the house, mewing at me, Grant, the other cats and just about everything.  Boo camped on on the back of the couch with Grayson.  Annabel just hung out on the cat tree.

Working from home, I get to spend my days with them.  I love that.  No longer do I have to wake up in the morning, drive into Boston in the crappy traffic, park the car, and then deal with the wonderful asshats I used to work with. It's lovely.  My co-workers are all furry four-legged creatures with pointy ears and long tails.  They keep to themselves and most days they sleep.  Sometimes they come down and ask for a bit of affection when I'm trying to write ad copy or a blog which is the worst thing they do all day.

I wouldn't trade these days for anything. :)
