I sorta gave up on Myspace because well, I just did. I miss blogging though so I thought I would try this format and see how I like it. It seems to be pretty user friendly which is nice.
Anyway, where have I been and what have I been doing the last few months? Well I was teaching a college level Microbiology class in Gallup for one. I was also doing work around my house, trying to deflate myself after the craziness that had ensued at my last job.
Now I'm in school again. I never thought I would go back to school, yet here I am. I was accepted into the STEMS program at UNM and now I'm working on my masters. Holy moly! Yes, an advanced degree. I can't believe it myself.
Yesterday was our first day of class and boy did it make me tired. I had to pay attention!! and talk to people. Our professor put us in groups and we did alot of interaction exercises as well as presenting to the group. Overall it was fun. I must say that the class besides being VERY long, was actually very good and different from any other college level course I've ever taken.
Part of this program is that we get to teach at APS next year. We don't student teach with another teach, but we teach. We ARE the teachers. I'm really excited. My partner and I were hired at a really good, small middle school that has a practically brand new and unused science building. The administration is friendly and open there. I know this may sound crazy, but I am looking really forward to teaching 7th and 8th grade science.
On other fronts in my life, I adopted two guinea pigs from my neighbor. They are the absolute cutest things I have ever seen in my life! They chirp, squeak, and run around like mad. My cats aren't sure if they're friends or foes so they keep trying to sneak into the cage to assess the situation. It's quite funny! I'll post some pictures when I get the time.
Also, my handmade/designed handbags are being featured in a shop in Santa Fe. I know, Santa Fe. I can't believe it either! I'll have to tell that story in another blog.
Overall life is good. New beginnings....it's what it's all about.
