New Moon

There’s a new moon tonight. New moon. New beginnings.

To begin, however, something has to end. How very true that is.

I’ll be in Bethel until October 17th. I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to be going home. I’m looking so forward to it that I feel that my heart and mind have already left and have abandoned my body. I have 10 days until my body gets to leave too. Damn body! How I wish someone would come up with instant travel ‘beam me up’ technology like they have in Star Trek. I love Star Trek!

So I’m tying up loose ends here, just biding my time until this contract runs out. Next Friday is the last day of the contract and it just can’t come soon enough.

I’ve packed my boxes and begun to pack my suitcase. I’ve made arrangements for my food and what not to go to good homes. I have tomorrow off to rest before I start my final 7 days. The countdown has begun. Woo hoo!

I’m going to miss all the friends I’ve made here and the professional contacts. As much as I haven’t been ‘happy’ here like I am at home, it’s been a good experience overall. I’ve learned a lot about another culture and I’ve met some cool people. I’ve gotten to cook for my roommates and co-workers. I’ve crocheted entirely too many hats and watched entirely too much TV. I’ve gotten to do a few things professionally that I’ve always wanted to do. It’s time, however, to go home and get back to my life. I’m ready to go home.

Tonight is the New Moon.
