The bees have nothing on me.
At the request of a very good friend of mine (my sister), I am writing this blog. "Updates," she said with an urgency in her voice. "I wanna know what's going on in your universe!"
When I think about what she said, I have to sit and think about what is really going on in my life. Somedays I wake up and my life is as clear as calm water in a lake. Other days I get up and everything is foggy and I can't find my underwear.
The long and the short of it is I'm changing my life up again. For reals this time. And I'm not going to stop til I get what I want: a PhD.
Since school started, I have had too much to do and not enough time to do it. I feel like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest! I keep kicking though even though I swear I am going to break my ass one of these days. My classes are unreal as well. We haven't had a single test or quiz the entire summer. Instead, we do group work. We read things and then sit around and talk about them. A class without a test doesn't seem like a real college level class, but I have to admit I'm enjoying it.
In a few weeks, I might be kicking my own ass for saying that. School starts in August and I will be going back to school.....but not as a student! Someone out there thought it would be good to put me in charge. I'm excited and scared all at the same time. I shouldn't be because I have taught before. I guess it's because I am going to be with 7th and 8th graders, all day, everyday from August until May. The gods must be crazy!
I've been wondering what to do with my house the last few months. My father has been busy so we haven't done much work on it. I did hire some people to rock part of my front yard. Now it doesn't look like ghetto macghee lives here. (even though I am still ghetto macghee) The house still needs alot of work, but it's home and I love it.
The felini tribe has been bringing me gifts all summer. Sometimes they try to 'teach' me about their inner workings of the tribe. I just smile and say 'good kitty, take it outside'.
The piggerellas are happy little herbavoires. They munch themselves through lettuce, hay and most other veggies I give them everyday. 'Wheet, weet, weet!' they exclaim when I fill their salad ball with goodies. If I'm patient enough, I get to see them dance excitedly in their pen. If you've never seen a guinea pig dance, you need to.
Life is good, but busy. Leave me a post-it note
